Radar detector, worth it? never had one
Ok I have alot of fast cars and never a radar detector. Got a speeding ticket in my Cobra last summer, first one in 12 years. So now I got my new 08 vette and it will be soon making over 530 at the tire. I do alot of highway jogs to the casino about 2 hours away. Are radar detectors worth the money? if so give me a reccomendation and what all I need.

Well, I will answer the primary question with a resounding - YES! Radar detectors are definitely a mandatory item on a car like a Vette. Heck, I've had a detector on every car and truck for the last 25 years. They've saved me LOTS of times. I'm not a big speeder, I normally do about 10mph over on the highway, which just might be enough for a bored LEO to ticket.
One ticket (and subsequent increased insurance premiums) will pay for a good detector.
