I'm finally going to add on MP3 ability to my stock setup without the CD changer.
1) I have seen the ipod2car adapters, but will these work for any mp3 or just ipods? I have a Sony.
2) There was some mention of the CD changer prewire in the passenger footwell. Is there anyway to connect to this instead of removing the head unit and plugging in the adapter?
If you have both of the changer plugs in the passenger footwell you can add an RCA plug aux-input if you buy COR-Har & GM10-Aux
If you then select the HU to 'CD Changer' it will think that the changer is constantly playing CD1 Track1 and play whatever audio you have plugged in to the GM10. Sometimes the HU can be a bit stubborn when it comes to 'recognizing' the GM10, check out post #9 of the C5 FAQ thread for tips on that.
You know, I think I can deal with CDs for a little longer...
at least until it quits, or I win the lottery and need to upgrade/overhaul my entire car!!
I dont blame you because of the prices on them harness'.

I guess I could try one of those FM wireless adapters, since they're about $20~30. Are they any good?
I have a FM adapter thing for my ipod that I use in rental cars, it sounds OK, but for a daily driver, probably not. Get one and try it out, you may be happy with it, and if not you're only out a few bucks.

To install the changer you'd still have to buy the COR-Har, plus the changer itself. Cost wise you'd be better off just buying the GM10-Aux instead of the changer.
Buy a new head unit if you swap out CD's a lot, that is what I did. I bought a Kenwood that plays MP3 discs and it also has a USB port plus a plug in for a MP3 player on it. A MP3 disc will hold around 120 songs, comparable to a 12 disc changer and you wont have to swap disc's. I remove my CD about twice a year and that is only because I make a new disc cause I get bored.
In the long run you will have a better sounding radio with 100% more capabilities than the stock OEM radio.
You really need to do this! Will take you about an hour and cost less than $10. Fm transmitters are horrible and will cost you more than doing this mod. I did this about a year ago and couldn't be happier, sound quality is great. I have a link for step by step directions if you need it.

Linky would helpy...
I have an aftermarket radio in my Camaro that has a aux mini-jack input. If I can put the same in the 'Vette, that would be great.
