I have an '09 C6 Coupe with a NAV Unit in it and I want to add the 6 Disc CD Changer GM Part #17802224 to it. I will purchase the CD Changer from Gene Culley but I need to figure out how to install it before I buy it or if it is even possible.
Does anyone know if there is an existing wiring harness/connector in the trunk storage bins or anywhere else to connect the CD Changer to? I have searched the forum and the service manuals and can't find squat about the wiring harness/connector being there or where it is located.
Six-Disc CD Changer If you have the available Bose® Navigation CD/MP3 audio system but still want to play multiple discs, a CD changer — mounted in the rear storage — gives you the best of both worlds. It handles six audio CDs for hours of listening entertainment.
The car is not pre-wired for this as it is not a factory option. You would need to run whatever wire/wires required.
Has anyone installed a remote 6 CD Changer part #: 17802224 connected to a Nav in a C6? If so, can you tell me did wiring come with the unit to connect it to the NAV unit or the harness running from the digital radio receiver located over the left rear wheel. If so, do you have any pics of the install or the wiring harness.
I sure would like to know if the changer works in an '09 Coupe. I can't believe it wouldn't nor that it would come with out the proper wiring harness and connectors. Maybe I'll just spend the $400+ to buy one and find out if no one has any answers.

Check in with Gene Culley @ GM Parts House, he should know the scoop.

Yeah, I already did that and he has no new information on it. His parts list still says 2005-2008.
I checked with another GM source who told me that GM will producing a 2009 compatible unit later this year. I'll bet it ends up being the same part number with an updated model year listing. LOL!
Kinda sad that we buy $60k cars and get an inferior NAV unit with a single CD, can't play DVD's, can't get a CD Changer for it, and no iPod interface.
Oh well, I'll just enjoy the sound of the V8 and the wind when cruisin' with the top off.
