Hi Guys,
I would like to get some opinions on a sub set-up for my '04 Z. Unfortunately, I am very busy with work and family and don't have the time to rip out all the Blose and start from scratch. I am a ASE master auto tech - believe me I would love to do a full system. Also, I understand the limitations of just adding a sub to the stock system. I have headers and Borlas so this is hardly a reference vehicle, but the lack of bass is torture. Also, I need to keep the $$ spent to a minimum. I have three cars to maintain, house payment, kids college fund, etc.
Here is what I am looking at ~ The seller is local and that helps a BUNCH. I am considering purchasing the box with the drivers and the Nine2x.
Does anyone have any expierience or opinions on this particular equipment and the combo I am thinking of buying? Does anyone want to give an educated guess on how this combo will hit? I listen to a lot of older rock (Rush, Soundgarden, Zep, Chili-Peppers, etc ~ I know, I'm old) and I'm sure this won't be a rap music lovers set-up anyways.
i would seriously consider eventually doing components in the door and an amp for those, even if keeping stock radio
Thanks for the input. Have you heard much about this equipment? Any idea if the amp is made in USA or China? Doing the doors might be an option if I do one project at a time. I have so many multiple projects (home, work) going at once I try to not overdo it.
I would be keeping the stock radio, especially since I recently an ipod adapter. It has been a while since I looked at the latest breed of radio>amp adaptors. Can you point me to the one that will provide the best signal to the amp from my stock radio?
i use elemental designs equipment in tons of my installs its good stuff, i can probally post links with pictures to well over 20 different cars i have used there equipment in

go with the pacaoemvet1 harness adapter
OK, thanks. I'll start looking for a deal on the adapter.
Its been so long since I've done any stereo mods. I'm not even sure if the Nine2x has a passive crossover or if I'll need to do something separate. Also, what would be the best way to wire the speakers from this amp? Thanks for all the help!
Good luck with this setup. It should be nice. I wanted it but shipping costs killed the deal so it's convenient for you that you're local.
Yeah, shipping must kill a lot of potential amp/sub box deals!
The one thing that is going against all of my instincts is that I have never had the opportunity to hear a factory Blose system in an FRC / Z06 C5 with an aftermarket amp & sub installed. I'm guessing that it can easily overpower the stock stereo; but its gotta improve the listening experience.

i would have to say that sub settup in a C4 is gonna pound. may need ear plugs,,,,
it deff has the capability to overpower bose in a heart beat but if u set ur gains conservatively u will be fine
10-4, thanks for all your input. Yeah, I see the pac has infinite adjustment on each channel as well. I should have known the amp would have a low pass filter. I checked it out online. I'm assuming the pac sends whatever full-range signal that the stock h/u sends out.
I'll be sure to repost if I get the set-up and of course take pictures if I do an install.
