My 5120 won't pair with my Blackberry automatically anymore. Worse than that, the HU doesn't "see" the BB and doesn't let me make calls from the HU. I can pair manually and make calls using the BB if I have the HU set to Bluetooth and the call will come through the car speakers. The BB "sees" the 5120 just fine. The HU doesn't show the BB as paired and the BT software version isn't indicated.
First off, the Parrot BT that Kenwood uses does not play well with Blackberry's. There is a compatibility list on Kenwood's site. The first thing I would do it check that you have the latest BT software on your 5120. If not, update it and verify that your Blackbbery is on the list that tells you if it's compatible. If your Blackberry is not listed I think your SOL.
I have a 5120 and a 6140 and I have the Blackberry Storm. Luckily my Storm works fine but even though it's not on the list of compatible phones so if it stops working there is little I can do as Kenwood themselves is saying it might not work if it is not on the list.
I would accept that explanation if it wasn't for the fact that the two devices paired and worked perfectly and every time for the first two months I had the HU. To my knowledge I did nothing to either, so I don't understand.

Have you docked your blackberry? Perhaps a blackberry update was installed?
BT for BB version should be 1.1 micro Bluetooth (or something like that). It's under the options / software version. If you need to know exactly how to find that I can look. The BT for the HU should be 1.70.
Delete references to each and re-pair. Let us know what happens.
Thanks for the advise. When I look at the software information it tells me the firmware is version 1.5.0 and this is what concerns me, the bluetooth version field is empty. My BB is a company phone and I had to "wipe" it last week to sync with the company server. That probably did something. I have downloaded the latest firmware update, version 2.4.0 which says there is an update for the BT module. I am hesitant to install for fear of really messing something up since the software screen is blank for the BT version field. What do you think?

I had to update my 5120 w/BT200 module as it had the old software from the factory.
I had to update the head unit via CD (or DVD) to version 2.4.0.
I had to update the BT-200 module via a bluetooth computer connection to 1.7.0.
Prior to updates, there was no communication between the BT-200 and head unit (nothing showed in bluetooth info on H/U). I found the cable connecting the BT-200 to the H/U had come loose/disconnected.
Once connection was verified and updates done, I found my phone was incompatible and had to get a different phone...
If yours was compatible prior to being "wiped", I would guess the problem is in your phone. I don't see how the software updates to the Kenwood units would hurt anything.
Got mad at the HU and decided I would figure this out! Read the owners manual and voila! why not try just resetting the HU? Did that, everything is working perfectly again.
Thanks everyone for your input and suggestions!
