For those who have installed the above H/U, you know that the USB cable is quite short. I connected my IPod interface cable to it. The delema is that now that connection is inaccessable behind the bezel in my C5 and I can't plug anything else into it. Is there a way to fix this little issue? I bought a USB extension cord with the idea of making the connection more accessable, but wonder if there is a better fix such as a USB hub.
I used a USB hub on my 5120 but as soon as I upgraded the firmware the hub stopped working. What I wound up doing was just buying a female-male USB cable and extending mine into the center console. That way I can plug my iPod in or use it to swap backgrounds or play music from my USB device.

Thanks Mike
I already have the cable and will just do the same thing.

Yes there is a solution, I ran the Kenwood USB cable to a USB hub (4 ports) that I placed in the glove box. In the glove box I connected the ipod cable and I then can either run it out to the cupholder area along the underside of the center console or I can leave the ipod connection in the glove box, all my usb connections are accessible at the glove box and multiple USB devices work, I connect a usb thumbdrive with all my music along with the ipod, hope this helps.

Don't ever upgrade the firmware on your Kenwood. I did and lost the ability to use a hub.

Thanks, I'll give this a try. Once I have the bezel out, it'll be easy enough to test. If it doesn't work out, I'll use the USB extension.
