I have run them in a few installs that I have done for others, and have them in my personal ride. I don't use the bottom level ones, but the middle of the road RCA's have performed well for me without being very expensive.
I have always thought you should spend a little money on your signal and power cable, and run basic speaker cable. I have done tons of installs using Radio Shack middle of the road speaker cable without a single problem. Don't waste your money on "twisted cable" or anything by "Monster Cable". That shyt is snake oil and will not make an audible difference in your system. I have run demo's on lamp cord versus radio shack 18 gauge vs $100 per foot "audiophile" cable and there was no difference in performance. People who spend the money hear a difference because their wallet tells their brains that they should

Say it aint so Fej!
Monster Cable made great RCA's in their higher end line, well they used to anyways.... Tell me you meant the low end stuff made nowdays......
I know it's not "the best", but it sure beats the pants of the stinger crap one gets with an amp install kit, or ANYTHING from radio shack. They are at very least a little better than those knuconcepts.
The interlinks I run were like $20.00 a foot back in the day...

well I just ordered them so hopefully My install will go smooth, I was digging out my audio stuff and some of my rf stuff looked old..... I start my avic dd install next week, I just finished retexturing my dd bezel(came out perfect) Got the avic d1, speaker plates for the doors, polk/momo 6.75 components, alpine rears, 12" sub custom box....Im almost ready to roll.1 mtx amp and a ppi for the int speakers
The twisted cable comment was actually referencing the speaker cable more than the RCA cables. Monster for a time did make some good stuff, but it is incredibly overpriced for the performance and there are tons of better options out there for less money. Monster had a great marketing team, much like Bose, and sell substandard performance for high margin because of their name.
A properly wired (and routed) system will perform equally as well with Radio Shack interconnects and speaker cable as it will with $100 per foot interconnects, especially when you consider the car environment and all of the other obstacles you are trying to overcome, like sitting on one side (unless you own a McLaren heh). I have installed both, A/B'd lots of scenarios, and it just does not make a difference.
If you get bored read about how signal (current) travels down speaker cable, and how there really is no means of improving the path it takes as long as it is large enough to handle whatever current you are asking it to push over the run you need.
Lots of people far more informed on the topic wrote posts about it at places like elitecaraudio.com
I don't know fellas, I've always been a proponent of quality signal cable and speaker wire. I can't say with a straight face that after the install of either I've heard a difference, but I just can't hook up a 4 dollar set of RCA's to provide signal to a multi thousand dollar set-up. BUT, without reading the info that you provided, I really can't make a legitimate argument either way...
I am running Knu's twisted RCA's and speaker wires (Karma SS line) and I think they are fine.
They are thicker than normal because of being twisted and another layer of jacket.
Thosee KNUs are good. I'm runnig them all over my system. The design makes them easier to cut/shorten for a clean installation....which I thought was a good thing before I went active and had to change the lengths of the cables again
Ive used knuconcepts amp install kit, 0 gauge, and their rcas with remote turn on wire, another 4 channel rca cable, and its all quality stuff, and they ship pretty fast too.
