C5 Speaker Swap - Need Recommendations
I plan to upgrade my stock Bose system and install a Kenwood DD/NAV/MP3 unit. I will be installing a custom double din bezel, etc., however I am also considering upgrading the stock speakers as well.
I have an 04 convertible so I am interested in one-for-one speaker replacement recommendations, especially something to improve the crappy stock rear speakers.
I am not trying to "out thump" the car next to me. I also cannot sacrifice any trunk room for a subwoofer. I am simply trying to get the best sound from the existing speaker locations.

Can anyone provide me specific brands/models? There have got to be like-for-like improvements than the stock Bose system. I just want to be armed with the best information going in vs. being sold the "overstocked speakers of the month".

Most folks don't use the center compartment anyway.

With a Stealth Box in the rear center compartmant and the cover reinstalled you won't even know the sub is there (untill you turn the system on, then? buckle up!)
