98 C5 Headlights Flashing





Here are some specs...Pioneer Head unit, eclipse speakers, RF Amp and 10" sub in a stealthbox. Power and ground is run to the battery that is a new Redtop Optima Battery.
This winter I cleaned all the body grounds.
What do you think? Do I need another ground closer to the Amp? What about a CAP? I have a 1 farad Cap sitting on the shelf.

A) Big-3 (use 4-2awg)
If the problem persists proceed to next step
B) Replace alternator with the Mexican-built 140 amp version. Most cars cane with the French-built 110 amp version. The extra 30 amps will be helpful.
If the problem persists proceed to next step
C) Install a capacitor. 1 farad per 500w should be enough.
If the problem persists proceed to next step
D) Replace battery
If the problem persists proceed to next step
E) Install an aftermarket performance Alternator.
If the problem persists proceed to next step
F) Give your car to me.





I had done that on my WRX and just did it on my ATV. The ATV was not charging that great, installed a jumper from the rectifier to the battery and added additional gounding and the charging voltage went up about 1.5v. (from 13 to 14.5v)
On the WRX, it actually smoothed out the idle and the car started much quicker.
