Ideal setup for installed kenwood system - 68 Vert
I'm not an expert here so I really need some help in setting up an existing install to sound the best it can in my 68 vert. Here is what I have installed:
Kenwood HU - KDC-X891
Kenwood 7202 - 2 channel amp
Focal 6 1/2 with tweeter (not sure of model number)
I'd like to adjust the amp so I have a good low end pickup, but I think I ultimately need a sub to get the sound I want, correct?
Is there anyway to connect a sub to my current 7202 amp??? Does that involve the "cross-over" wiring I read about. I have no idea what this means, by the way.
I don't need anything huge - just something to make AC/DC sound kick-azz when I crank it a bit.
As an update - I just ordered a Kenwood 8404 4 channel amp and a set of 6X9 Kenwood 6821 speakers for the rear. I'm hoping I can swap out the 2 channel and plug all existing front cords right into the new amp and and simply wire in the back speakers. I'll build an enclusure, of course.
My other issue is figuring out all of the terms relating to frequency adjustment, hi.low filtering, etc. Any good books out there to help me make sense of this???
Thanks in advance for any and all advice!

You should be able to swap the 4 channel out for the 2 channel, assuming the power wire you have run is of size enough to handle the extra juice. I would high pass all of of those channels at around 65-80Hz so you're not trying to have those speakers produce frequencies below what they're capable of. If that amp has an OUTPUT you can set the crossover on the its output or on the 2 channel amp which you could probably re-use for a sub if you add one to low pass around 60Hz.
High pass means it passes frequencies HIGHER than the one you've set. Low pass means it passes frequencies lower. So you high pass main speakers, low pass subs.
P.s a nice 10" bazooka tube will really liven up your music and give it that bump your looking for.
IMO u need to add a small subwoofer to get the bass, the 6x9s will help but not much
