01 Z06 subwoofer system help
I bought my first Vette, an black on black 01 Z06 last year, only to get deployed and not be able to drive it....
but, i'm looking to put in a nice subwoofer system. I would like to place 2 JL Audio 10W3's in a custom box facing the back of the seats. The custom box would completely seperate the driver's compartment and the trunk space, with the 2 Amps on the back of the box. I would probably want to place a custom Corvette symbol into both front/back sides of the box between the speakers/amps to make it look nicer.
I've looked forever to try and find a Vette that has this type of system set up, but haven't found anything really. Question: Is the height of that space to little for those subs with the custom box? I used to know the exact height of that space, but forgot it over time. I also worry about the rattle of the box and speakers messing up the rear window over time.... any suggestions/ideas/tips ??? thanks for the help, and glad to finally be on here

I have seen the partition thing done a few times, but I have never heard one. Check out the sticky at the top "what do you run". Lots of pics and ideas of systems in there.
I am with Penta, too much hassle and permanence with trying to seal a partition to separate front wave from back wave for the sub. A few vendors on here make nice enclosures where 2 10w3's would fit, and a couple amp options including just behind the console hump and possibly under the passenger seat. Also could do a false floor and raise your sub enclosure space while mounting amps and keeping things stealth, which also opens up your options for a higher performance sub. (IE larger motor/magnets)

this is a single 15 in 1.5 cu^ft. The box is 30wide, 16 deep 11high back, 5 high front. Top is a trim piece.
