AVIC F700 install - questions
Wow what a MOD!! Saw-zal to the vette...who'd a thought.
So I'm at the point where I'm wiring in the new head unit and I have some questions I'm hoping I can get some help with.
1. Where is the best place to ground the unit? I don't see anywhere in the dashboard and the passenger seat bolt seems odd.
2. GPS mounting, I'd like to mount the GPS antenna behind the rear view mirror. Can I stick it to the windshield from the inside, hiding the wire in the headliner and thus mounting it upside down with double sided tape?
Do I need to use the magnet? or will this interfere with the windshield antenna?
I guess another possibility is any other location a member has used successfully.
3. I got most of the wiring done, I think I did the parking brake bypass correctly but we'll see, but I have a harness from the car that is not being used. Its a small harness with 4 wires.
How do I wire this to the head unit? and what are they?

Where is the OEM ground?
Wiring harness: Soundgate GMCRV2 I think I need to clarify. That picture is not of the aftermarket wiring harness but of the harness from the vehicle. It was formerly plugged into the stock radio and has no input on the soundgate harness.
GPS antenna is OK mounted "upside down" without the magnet?
