I installed my new HU, speakers, and amp over the last couple of days. When I wired up my wiring harness for the acc power I just wired it into the harness. No power, I then remember that I needed to pickup power from the yellow wire under the passenger kickpanel. That worked and I had everything up and running beautifully for a good 30mins. Went to dinner came back and everything turned on fine, then all of the sudden I lost power to the headunit. Does anybody know what fuse to check to see if I blew one before I start going thru all of my soldered connections.
Also I tried to doing the avic411 hack so I could watch dvds and controll nav while the car is moving but that didn't work either. I moved the mute wire to the other side in the 4 pin spot. Did I forget a step, is there something else to do? When I put a dvd in all I got was the sound and the warning message about the driver veiwing the screen.
One more issue. I hooked up my iphone and it showed that it was playing but I couldn't hear anything. I could however hear and play music from a usb thumbdrive. Not sure why that is.
I know my grammar/spelling is horrible, it has been a long 4 days and I am just ready to have this done. Get my garage cleaned up, car put back together and start enjoying it with a radio again.
Think I have the answer as to why the bypass didn't work, need to ground parking brake. The iphone issue, need to select ipod in the menu for AV's. Avic411 has been helpful.
Still need any info on the yellow wire, which fuse it runs thru.
Yellow is fused at I/P #11, orange @ I/P #7, both are 20A.
Thank you sir, turned out to be a blown fuse, #11 just like you said. You saved me from pulling and checking all the fuses. For this reason I won't bash you for being a Steeler fan living in Panther Country.
