I did a search but I still can't seem to find the info I need. I want to keep the factory NAV head unit in my '07, but I want to replace the door speakers, rear speakers, and add a sub. I've already purchased a subthump box for the rear and templates for the door speakers. I will probably go with a 5 channel Alpine amp that is 4 X 75w and 1 X 300w. Beyond that, could someone please recommend some tweeters and mids for the doors, two speakers for the rear, and what harness and adaptors I'd need to allow the head unit to work with the amp. If someone knows of a link that already explains all this, that would be of great help as well! I couldn't seem to find it. Thanks in advance!!
This thread pretty much tells you everything you need to know.
Cliffs notes (follow links in above thread to see details):
-Buy a PAC Add-GM24
-Put RCA plugs onto above harness to get a line-level source for your amp
-Use White wire at pin B3 of main radio harness as your 'switched' trigger (to maintain RAP)
-Run new power/ground wires for amp
-Run new wires from the amp to your speakers
I'm in the process of doing something similar, but I already have the HU swapped out for an AVIC-D3. I'm going with Polk db6501 components in the front, JVC's in the rear, and a Polk db1040 sub. The amp is a Hifonics ZXi8010 with 4x55 + 1x200 at 4ohms. I'm making my own combination sub box/amp rack.
