Personally, I don't think that Bazookas sound that great, they are "boomy", but has anyone ever heard one in a C6? I was just thinking of ALL of my options for my build, and if I can utilize a powered 12", I could save the space I wouldn't have to use for a decent sized amp, and get 12" low end to boot!
I had a BTA6100 hidden in the center tub of my C5. Anyone who didn't know it was a tube thought it was a stealth sub. One guy asked me if it was a 10" or 12". When I told him 6" Bazooka he bet me lunch that it wasn't. That dude was just plain stupid
OOOOOOOhhhhh ... Bazooka tubes, Ive had tubes in all sorts of cars, Im a big fan...why not one in the c6 should prob sound great.
You guys think it would sound alright? I'd run it from 55Htz and below, and I think your right Volvo (you have to give me your real name by the way), I probably should buy a passive tube.
Your were saying that JL made a tube? I'll bet they sound better than a Bazooka..... What I don't want is sloppy or boomy bass. I prefer tight, deep, sealed box sound. I like the sound wave punch vs. noise....
Thanks for your input guys, keep it coming.....
I guess the bottom line here is. Would you run one in your C6 (besides you Mark, we all know the answer)?

ive never been a huge fan of them but IMO ran passive it will probally work pretty damn good. The jl slim sub is nice but i dont know of a bass tube for them.
There cheap enough bUy one and give it a test, Or hook up your amp and go to a stereo shop that has one , Im sure they will let you test it.... If your in Ny come by Ive got 2 10" tubes sitting in my garage.
A properly designed ported enclosure with the right sub will give you deep, accurate bass - and take a ton of room.
Why not use an amp like the Arc Mini to save space?
Are you referring to the Bazookas, or another properly designed....
Again, I've never been a fan of Bass Tubes, and after looking closer at their specs, I think I'm going to pass. Their frequency response starts at 30 Htz, and that just wont do....
I prefer my low end to start in the 10Htz range, and and at 55Htz. I know, I know, 10Htz is not audible, but that doesn't mean you cant feel it.
I think I'll just build a custom sealed box, and stick an L710, or a Perfect 12.
Thanks for the opinions fellas. Your time & efforts are greatly appreciated!
Before I bought a new JL Audio Stealthbox with the 10" sub for $200.00 new (i'm bragging) I had one of these http://www.crutchfield.com/p_108BASS...asslink&tp=114 and it worked great. I don't have the Bose system and kept everything else stock, just added the Basslink. Placed it right behind the driver in the back area of the car.

Nice, hell of an option to consider! Thanks! I am looking for something simple. Did you have to run higher guage wire like a normal amp install?
SI Mag is a pretty highly regarded sub. Not cheap, but damn nice.
A bazooka tube, I don't care who the manufacturer is, will not play low bass with any sort of authority, if they will attempt to play it at all.
Now you want to build a sonotube, with enough airspace to get a low enough response, that will work. Of course you probably won't be able to close your hatch
Stick to sealed enclosures, the DIYMA 12" will fit in .5 cu^3 and will give you nice low end extension. I have always felt that for solid low end performance you need larger voice coils/motors and nice excursion from your surround. I am not sure a Perfect 12" has enough of that to really play low.

Yes, the installer did run a heavy wire to the rear. It may be a 10AWG or an 8AWG wire. Nice thing about it is it has the control to adjust the punch from the center consul (although one setting worked well) and the top of a coupe still fits in the back. I have to admit it worked very well and sounded great with a standard 08 system. It really filled in the bass to improve the sound of the stock system. I actually think with my stock system still in place, the Basslink sounds better than my JL Stealthbox and a 400W amp. The JL is way over powered and adjusted way down. There is a gap between the mids and lows with the JL and with the Basslink it sounded more seamless with a smoother blend between the mids and lows.

Nice! I might do a scan of the ole ebay now and pick one up! You put yours behind the seat? I wonder if it would lay flat in the back and fireup allowing the top to still be in place? I will measure
Certainly not a budget build sub. But far from expensive. I run mine at 350 watts.
What kind of box do you have, any pics?
The woofer has a nice look, and the build sounds great. Does it hit decent? I can't imagine that in a .5 cube box that it would, but you never know....
As for the Infinity Bass Link, I always looked that them as "toys". Am I wrong in that assumption? Don't get me wrong, I'm sure they produce much more low end than you stock system, and almost any low end is better than none. I just cant see how those, and or a stealth box are really going to do anything worth while.
Its in a .8 box currently. .5 Is a bit on the small side for it.
It provides a surprising amount of volume. However, you don't get that volume boost from distortion that you get in a lot of subs. (The unnatural sounding punchy sound)
Since its low distortion, its louder than it sounds.
