DNX8120 and GXM30 "Issues"?
I do need some suggestions, though, because I'm not sure if my problems are originating with the GXM antenna or the HU itself.
1. Today I noticed XM was acting really flaky - cutting in and out "no XM signal" constantly. This was something new...most of the time it'll cut out if it doesn't have a clear view of the sky (i.e., trees or buildings in the way). Today reception was constantly cutting in and out no matter where I was. The signal loss was intermittent, though. Any ideas? Maybe I should try again tomorrow? Maybe one of their sats was offline?
2. Very rarely, XM radio will just "disappear" altogether. I will be listening and then the radio signal will just disappear, as will the NAV-XM icon from the selection screen. Traffic and weather still work, however. This has occurred only 3 times in 3 months and I drive the car daily, so it's very rare. Once it happened while I was listening and I was able to reinitialize XM service and it was fine. It did tell me it didn't see a radio ID. But that was over a month ago, no problems since.
3. Also, there is an intersection I approach every morning where I get a traffic warning that says "warning, traffic alert 24,xxx" miles away". Been hearing this for the last week. Only in the morning and only when driving west. LOL. Interesting!!!
Anyone think I might just have a loose (or partially unseated) cable? The antenna is where the center speaker was and has about the clearest view it's gonna get.
Head unit or the GXM-30? I'm betting it's the GXM...any thoughts?

Intermittent loss of the signal (or at least the music) isn't uncommon, and losing it when obstructed (even by an overpass) is normal.
The traffic alert is probably normal as well. Even when you don't have a route programmed the system looks ahead of you on your current road and warns you of traffic. It should be telling you more specific info but I'm guessing it is a construction zone.
