2005 nav unit, trouble w/ cd player
i have been having some trouble w/ the factory nav/ HU reading cd's. the cd's im using are "not" home made, they are discs that were purchased at a store. some old, some new. i touch the cd button on the HU and it will not play the disc. if i unload it then put disc back in, it will reckognize that there is a disc. but when the car is turned off, then back on, the HU reverts back to the FM button. i then proceed to push CD and it won't toggle on. it will allow me to turn on the xm button. this all started about a month ago. not sure if the HU is going or if it needs cleaning or what?

I have an 05 with somewhat the same problem. Sometimes when I put a CD in, it will not recognize it. I have to eject the CD and re-insert it. If a CD is already in the player and I press the "CD" button, sometimes XM1 will play instead of the CD. It's been doing it for about a year, but is infrequent and I haven't really worried about it.
