Heard some good, some bad and they are pricey.
Honestly, I try to let me own ears be the guide on the final decision.
I've spent a lot of $$ over the last 20+ years on high end audio equipment and learned this the hard way.

seems like your all over the place, most upper brand speakers will sound great, I got a set of polk momo's off ebay for 140 shipped that sound fantastic, but they do need some power, remember to make sure your amp is powerful enough to push them. I had a 50x4 rms ppi that i thought would be perfect, but wasnt enough power, so i swapped that with an infinity 111rms x4 and now they sing.

Kind of all over the place because around here car audio dealers high end stuff is JL. So I had unwantingly settled on that. I'd have to drive probably 3 hours to hear other better brands so basically right now you guys are my ears.

What music do you listen to? When you jump in a new car for the first time do you turn the treble to max, or play around a bit? Do you care about midrange, or just want the "boom, tsst" that some watts and a sub will give you?

At this point, it is hard to go wrong with something from Focal or DLS. I have personal experience with both and they make quality, long lasting, and top performing drivers. Many a competition ride has won using their stuff. (more DLS than Focal, Focal is more of a home driver focused company, but still makes great car stuff)

If you really like highs, go Focal with a TN51 or TN52 tweet. If you want a little more mellow sound, go DLS. Both midrange units will perform quite well.

I personally have the TN51's in my car with a 3" DLS midrange and a Focal Polykevlar 7" midbass in my vette. I have the TN 51's tamed quite a bit, and the DLS midrange is pretty awesome. That being said, I will be downsizing to a 2 way setup (7" and tweet) here in the near future, and the Focal midrange will sacrifice a little midbass output, and give me a slight downgrade in midrange clarity, but still be damn good

He!! no brutha! You got Goodman Radio just north of Philly in Bryn Mawr.
I've been in his show room a few times.
Carries some nice stuff. McIntosh, A/D/S, Morel etc.
http://www.goodmanradio.com/index.html

His installers are top notch, old school guys that have a lot of experience.
His shop does all the local talent for the stealerships, Ferrari, Porsche etc.

Fej,I listen to everything. I'm a musician of about 20 years and did professional concert soundstaging for a few years. Accurate sound reproduction and quality are number one to me. Not volume or all bass. I'm always adjusting something to see if I can get the sound better.

Chit, I didn't know Delmar was the bottom of the "island"
Worth the trip if you eve get up that way. Nice people to deal with, good inventory, but a little pricey on some items.

I've got a lot of stereo stuff for sale if you may be interested. Shoot me a pm and I'll give you my cell.
