Best interior ground location for C6?
So should I use the ground wire from the PAC wire harness to ground the Nav and remote steering wheel control harness?
I've been reading that folks almost always use the ground loop isolator (a couple of them for some folks). So I'm wondering if I should divert the ground wires for the harness, remote steering wheel control adapter harness and Nav/radio grounds to a grounding bolt.
I looked at one install and a fellow was grounding at the amp location at the bottom bolt right hand side near the fuse box. I just checked this out on my car ('08 Z) and it looks to me like the bolt goes into a clip and the clip is connected to a frame that isn't metal (or maybe it is?).
Then I thought, maybe I should run a wire to this aluminum brace thing inside the dash near the glove box. But I don't know if that is a frame ground or not.
Another thought was to run the damn ground wire to the battery in back of the car (Z06) and that may be the "best" but the most time consuming.
Also, I only have 16 gauge black wire so I'm going to double up. Will that be enough ground lead?
So what's the best ground location if I don't have ground loop isolators?
Any input is appreciated!
It turns out there is no whine at idle or when reving, but I didn't drive the car. Hopefully there is no difference where driving has whine where idle doesn't.
