I just installed a DNX6140 w/built-in bluetooth. My phone will pair with the unit, and when I make a call, the sound does not come through the speakers....?
The music mutes, but no phone sounds come through the speakers. If I switch to the phone using the icon button on the call page, I can hear on the phone, but when I switch back to the speaker... all quiet.....
Did I miss/screw up something in the set-up? I can't figure out why no sound comes from the stereo speakers..?
FYI... The phone works with my DNX5120 w/BT-200 bluetooth module. Both the 6140 and BT-200 have the 1.70 bluetooth software.
I have the same HU in my vette and have no touble with my paired phone. Does your phone have the ability to play music? Try streaming music from your phone to the HU and see if you get sound. My guess is you won't but it's worth a try.
first i have heard of this, is ur stereo miswired maybe, the BT only comes through the front speakers
I get music from the radio and the ipod in all speakers (including the front speakers), so I think they are wired correctly.
I've tried it with "both" front speakers selected and with just one of the front speakers selected........ nothing......??????

Phone doesn't play music, but it does work properly on the 5120/BT-200, just nothing on the 6140.
It's almost like the bluetooth volume is turned down or off.... but I can't find anyway to adjust it other than the volume **** (which was well over halfway when the unit muted for the phone call)...?????
Looks like I'll be takin it all apart and checking connections.. I was hoping someone would tell me it was something I missed in the set-up.

How do you like this unit ? I was thinking of installing one in my C5.
I have this one and I didn't have an issue. I used the factory speakers and I did notice a place on the menu to point the NAV voice so I assume that it is the same of the blutooth. I can't remember where thought.
Do you have aftermarket speakers or stock? I have stock but am getting ready to rip them out starting today and install my amp.

Thanks.
I love it! I have a DNX5120 as well in another car and while I like it, it has many bugs. It looks like the new line has addressed most of those bugs. One thing though, the Kenwood menu system is not intuitive at all and it really takes some time with it to get it all figured out.
Back on topic. To the OP, My guess is there is a wiring problem or you have a defective unit.
The Kenwood online tech help said to check and make sure the Nav voice is working, they seem to think it is a wiring problem. Unfortunately I had a Kenwood dealer install it, but I lost faith in their shop based on numerous things that happened during my install. I will be checking & fixing it my self.
I KNEW I should have just installed it myself, but lack of time and being anxious I used a shop that gave me a good "deal"... guess you get what you pay for.......

Once I get the kinks out of the 6140, I'm sure I'll love it too.
The ipod interface is excellent and the touch screen garmin NAV portion is outstanding.!!
