Default OK Audio Techs, Opinions Needed

I have seen a few threads with members running more than one sub per enclosure that share the same air space.

For the life of me I can't remember why this is a bad idea, but I know that it is. I think it has something to do with frequency cancellation, but I'm not sure.

Why is it?

I could put a call into a friend of mine and get the answer, but that would take the fun out of it, and deprive our audio section members very valuable information. Information that would/could keep them from wasting their valuable time & money.

Let's hear it fellas....

are u refering to putting 2 of the same subs in one box with shared volume?

IMO the only downside is you have less bracing so might get more box flex but this is only really in high power applications, also if one sub blows you can run into problems

As long as they are the same sub, size, etc, and wired mono there shouldn't be any problems.

Multi-driver subwoofer boxes can be quite effective.

Check this for an example of some extra bracing.

Might be a bit much for a Vette.

Specification is -3dB @ 12 Hz and flat from 15-80 Hz. It will do 105 dB @ 250 meters.
