C5 head unit recommendations
I want to upgrade my C5 radio first to have an audio in for a mp3 player but also for the best sound possible (will upgrade speakers as well).
I don't care about navigation, watching DVDs, or anything fancy.
So I am looking for the cheapest possible head unit that has an audio in and high quality sound. I'm willing to pay more for higher quality sound but not for other undesired features.
Any suggestions? At least as to the generally best selling "brands"?
Thanks.

I was very happy with the Kenwood Excelon unit I had in my C5. They have different versions, most can be expanded with any add-on Kenwood makes, some have front 3.5 aux inputs, most are under $200.

Looking for suggestions, too as I'm beginning to hate the radio in my C5.
But I also hate aftermarket radios with the filler plate around them. Has anyone installed a C6 radio in a C5 without incident?

C6 radios will NOT work in a C5 since they're VIN specific, besides that they're double din and C5 is 1.5 din.
The fancy mounting plates at HUmount.com don't look too bad, and there are several forum vendors who make double din dash conversions if you want to get one of those.
There are a few 1.5 din aftermarket radios available, but they don't seem to be much better than the stock setup.
