Default Kenwood 9140 Install Question

I'm thinking of replacing the factory nav on my 2008 Z with the Kenwood 9140. My question is, is there enough room behind the dash for all the boxes that go with it (Sirius box, HD radio box, GMAH248, GMAHCM, and PAC SW1-JACK)? I'm planning to leave the stock amps and speakers in.

I'm not sure about the Sirius box and HD radio box (careful, cause I know on some Kenwoods that's an either/or not both arrangement, not sure on the 9140) but the rest there's definitely enough space. I mounted the Sirius tuner for my 8120 in the stock location (for you it would be under the carpet over the left rear wheel tucked under the quarter panel) because I used the built-in XM antennas.

Default No, but yes

For all of that stuff, behind the HU itself would be a no.

However, there is a bit of room above and to the right of the HU (above the emergency fob slot in the glove box), and LOTS of room behind/under the glove box on top of the flat plastic piece above the passengers feet (the one with the floor lamp mounted on it). The sirius and HD boxes are all you'd need to put there, and their normal cables are plenty long enough.

^ LOL

I was the same way Tom.

I've been trying to get smart on the HU swap and system upgrade. I've done my own automobiles in the past, but it's been 8 years or so since I've last done one. Things have changed A LOT since then.

I've been reading a lot of the "Audio" section threads and markcz is a whiz. I'm almost certain I'll hit him or pentavolvo up for an answer or two when I do tackle the task.
