hey, not a vette but i have a nakamichi radio amp and speakers out of my old lexus gs400. anyone know if i can hook the amp or atleast the speakers with out using the actual lexus radio itself to a 97 transam?

First I would run search on the internet and see if it's 4 ohms or 2 ohms system you had in the Lexus.
I am not that familiar w/ 97 TA but if Bose system than it may be 2 ohms. Base Delco most likely is 4 ohms system.
It may be best to stop by Car Audio shop and talk to an installer.
the T/A has that monsoon system and that i believe is 2 ohms and the nakamichi is 4 ohms. Not sure really what that means ( ohms ). btw thanks for the help

If different ohms speakers are not interchangeable. I am no electrical engineer but ohms is a measure of resistance in electrical circuit. Speakers are designed based on a particular ohms - home audio, I believe runs 1 ohms, typical car audio (of the shelf head units) are designed around 4 ohms and some "designer label" car audio such as Bose in Vettes, at least C4s, are 2 ohm system.
