Default Stereo Packages - What do you want

I have partnered up with C5bearsfan to design some stereo packages for the vettes.

What are you guys looking for just replacement speakers, amp upgrades, subs, boxes, etc. I am gonna try and build a few packages.

I'm looking for a Kenwood DNX9140 with adapters for Ipod, steering wheel controls, chimes, XM receiver, and antenna. Need all pieces required to install in a 2008 Bose/OnStar coupe. Please PM with specifics, including info on Kenwood warranty, and possible options. Thanks.

Default just thinking out loud here....

From the questions that are constantly being asked on this forum, you may want to offer an "everything in one box" package. And by everything, I mean everything. In addition to all of the parts in these packages you could also offer the amp wiring kit, speaker wire, RCA cords, connectors, crimpers/cutters, zip ties, EVERYTHING! With the DIY's already posted just about anybody can do the work, if they're confident they have ALL of the required parts handy before they start, IMO, more will try.

An 'a la carte' option would probably be popular also. If someone got a deal on a HU or amp, but needed everything else...

Speakers seems like it would be a bit tougher. Maybe three choices like good/better/best. Something like Polk or BA for the good pkg, whatever fits as better, then Focals as best.

Gonna start to work on getting speaker plates

From there thinking about doing just bolt in speaker replacements with factory door subs/amp still work
and then add an amp (stock radio or not) and component door speakers, an option for rears, and an option for a sub

The problem with C6 sub boxes bein pricey is to go to a non shallow mount sub you have to fiberglass the box

Maybe a "vision" package to add front/rear cameras to your video capable HU?

Let me know Greg if you and Dennis need something in particular as far as C5 sub boxes are concerned.

I'm interested in DNX9140 Option B. What about adapters for Ipod, steering wheel controls, and the existing GM XM receiver? How is the Kenwood warranty handled? Thanks.

factory warranty
I am listed from my supplier with Kenwood so as long as the serial number matches for the item i sell you with what is called in for a warranty issue there will be no problems. All units would be sent to my supplier for a replacement.

I will have Greg get me the steering wheel control info.

You will need the Kenwood Xm peice as your factory Xm will not work. I will need to look up what Xm peice goes with the head unit your looking at. Any specific one?
I also have Pioneer in the same packages if you need that info.

Ipod cables are 35.00 extra

Greg,

Are you going to try to keep the setup stealth as possible? Amp locations and such???

I am thinking something pretty clear cut that appeals to most people.

Factory HU replacement kits, maintaining all factory speakers, with option to include steering wheel controls, add IPOD, subs etc.

Factory Speaker replacement packages while maintaining factory HU, all adaptors addressed etc, with options like amps, subs etc.

Full "base" replacement kits, with HU and all speakers replaced, with all adaptors, wiring etc. Something like 4 coaxials, or an entry level component set with coax in the rear.

Upgrade level full replacement with say Nav HU, components with amps and sub option, basic deadening etc.

"enthusiast" level kits, with higher end amp, hu and speaker package options, next level deadening etc.

G'luck with the future venture, and let me know if I can help any.
