I'm also looking... I stopped by Best Buy today and they had 2 models that I found appealing. A Rockford Fosgate RFX9000 and a Sony Xplode MP450 (both around $300)
I'd love some feedback on the RF when you get it installed... anyone have any experience with the Sony?
The Sony seemed much more powerful, and I like the wireless remote, but I've heard nothing but praise for RF.
with that price range id check out the Pioneer DEH7400MP.. I wouldnt touch a sony car product with a 90000 ft pole. It WILL break. You can find the pioneer units online for around 275. It has many more features than either deck and will also decode Mp3s http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/Pi...,21416,00.html
One more question.... I've already decided that I will be using an adapter to convert the stero to run with my Bose gold speakers, but how do I get the dash of my 92 apart to take my radio out?
Also is there anything else that I should be aware of?
I second the pioneer. I had a DEHP-9200:cool: , now the 9300 as the HU on my Grand Prix's system. Excellent HU. Its got 3 rca outputs. Oh and the Organic display is

Re: Rockford Fosgate vs Sony (Bradley33)
I was torn between the RFX9300 and the AIWA MP32. They both seemed to have what I wanted to upgrade my 1988.
Well I wound up with neither, I picked up an RFX9400 off eBay for $267 including shipping. I'm going to try and install it and the new rear speakers next Sunday. It will be an interesting install because I'm replacing the Blose.
Anyone know the best route for new speaker wires????
I found on I think it was http://www.pricegrabber.com the pioneer 7400 with MP3 for $216. Give it a shot. It will run circles around the sony. The fosgate is probably fine but I doubt its better than the pioneer.
