I have been looking at Pioneer and Kenwood, I believe i like the Kenwood unit's better. Which do you guys have or you recomend best for the money? I do have bose speakers in my vette, non navigation unit.
If you plan on using the Nav feature a lot, Kenwoods seem to be the best. Everything else is pretty much a draw and just comes down to personal preference for the user interfaces, functionaly they're really all about the same.
If you're looking for a bargain, I'm very happy with my AVIC-D3. It has DVD based Nav, and is a few years old, but you can get one for under $400.
If money isn't a factor, go to a local shop that will let you push the buttons, pick your favorite, then get the newest model with the factory warranty still intact.
I have a Pioneer Avic Z3, but the Z110BT is incredible and has an ipod / bluetooth included. NO BRAINER!

I have the Z110BT in my DD it is 1000 times better than the AVIC lineup I liked it so much I just ordered another one for my Z06. I sold both my AVIC 90BT's to get the the Z110's. The NAV is light years ahead of the AVIC's boot up is under 10 seconds backup cam comes right up as soon as its in reverse no delay at all I mean at all. Touch screen response is instant no delays eather this unit is well worth the money highly recommended.

I got the best Kenwood/Garmin about 1.5 years ago that also had bluetooth and connector for ipod. I installed the backup camera and sirius sat radio, and I'm totally satisfied. On mine, if you want navigation updates, you have to buy an SD card for more than $100, though. I liked it so much, I installed one in my wife's Toyota Highlander, too. Installation in a japanese car is incredibly easy, due to the bezel match. On my Z06, I went to all the effort of buying a stock bezel and modified it to allow the double DIN kenwood unit. While I had the center console and lid off, I went ahead and added a driver seat heater switch and wiring and bright white L.E.D. lighting for the interior of the center console so I could find things in there at night.
The weak link in the vette system is the amp/speakers, so changing out just the radio only does so much. However, the better units have so many enhancements and adjustments available that you can tweak it to sound pretty darn good.

Any pics of the unit installed in the Z06? Love to see what it looks like...
