I just picked up my first Corvette, a 2009 coupe. It does not have Bose, but it does have OnStar.
I replaced the head unit with a Kenwood 6140 using the GMOS-04. Everything kind of works but I am now wondering if adding a amp and replacing the door speakers is going to make a big difference. Also, what is the speaker setup under the door panels? So I am wondering if the door speakers are a simple replacement or is there something lurking under the door panels.
I also would like to know if there is a way (with the GMOS-04) to take only the OnStar audio out of the system and use a separate speaker.
You will notice a night and day difference by adding good amp or amps and door speakers. Take the factory door "thumpers" out and trace the shape on 1/2" plywood. Use 1/4" for the factory "twiddlers" and trace them out. Then just cut out the center for whatever speakers you want to use. Just installed hybrid audio in mine and there is no comparison to stock.
