Default Calling the C6 audio experts...

Our stock head units have the unique volume control that can spin indefinitely but the volume can only go so high. Now, I have several JL Audio amps (2-300/2's and 2-1/500's) I need to set the gain on AND a signal processor that also has its own volume control (Alpine-320). So:

a) Does anyone know the voltage the HU puts out at max

b) Am I better off running the volume on the HU at 75% consistently and control the volume off the signal processor (for distortion reasons)

c) anyone else running either of these JL amps that has already tuned the gains and can tell me what they need to be set at relative to the HU

THANKS!!

A) Sorry, no idea what the volts out are

B) Not sure what the setup of the Alpine is but my guess is this would be the way to go. While controlling the volume from the head would be more convenient certainly you need a consistant signal input to a processor to get good output.

C) Again nope, sorry.

My advice... ditch the factory head and install an Alpine head that can control the processor directly. It will sound and work WAY better.
