Default C5 amp+sub in cubby... pics

Been finding lots of people lately looking to go very stealthy and unless you have a z06 where you can hide an amp under the seat you dont have many options to hide the amp.

I know a few others have done this also but I came up with the idea of an 8" sub and 4 channel amp (power sub and door component speakers) under the center cubby. Obviouslly the box would need to be carpeted but this is an idea, I through together for a few diff customers.

Looking for opinions etc

If you want to put the stock cover back on there may be an overheating issue. I briefly had a 6" powered Bazooka and a 4x25w amp hidden back there in my C5, they were fine for a while, but after a few hours the amp would cut out.

what about moving the latch mounting points up 3/4" and putting point supports/3/4" spacers around the underside of the cover. then you would have a 3/4" opening all around and it would be very stealthy.

That's why I love this Form. Too many minds, is a good thing.
That's a good idea. I even thought of a small 12 volt fan? Thoughts? Mark

I wish I had seen this before I did my install. I did not want to lose trunk space so I didn't install a sub.

For cooling, you could put someting like a speaker grill directly above it that would allow heat to escape.

Now I know what my winter project is.
