C5 radios all bose?
Are all C5 factory radios Bose? I've seen many in for sale posts however I haven't seen a bose emblem on any of them. Also is there a certain year head unit that performs best?
Basically I purchased a corvette with an aftermarket head unit and the speakers sound terrible. The door speaker emblems all say bose and I'm aware the amplifiers are in the speaker. I was hoping to go back to a stock head unit to make them sound better opposed to redoing the entire system.

The radios aren't actually Bose, just the signal processor and speakers. The big bass speakers (subs) in the doors have their own internal amps, the other four mid/hi range 'twiddlers' are all powered from an amp inside the radio, but after the signal is processed (some may say distorted) by the Bose signal processor.
If you really want to get an OEM radio, any HU that came as stock in a C5 should work.
Can you tell if the subs are working?
Do you have any idea if you still have the stock twiddlers installed?
What is the model number of your current radio?
Do you know how the current radio is connected to the speakers, it may just be a poor installation job causing the problems.
