I am looking to upgrade my subwoofers in my 2009 coupe, and I have come down to two choices.

Elemental Design 11Kv.2 D4 in a .5 cu/ft sealed box - $90
or the Image Dynamics 10D4v3 in a .6 cu/ft sealed box - $159

Subs would be up firing with the box right behind the seats on the trunk floor. I also have the trunk partition right behind the boxes.

Both are 4ohm dual VC and I would wire them in series using an Alpine PDX5 amp which gives 300w/rms at a stable 2 ohm.

Does anyone have any experience with either or both of these subs?

Any input greatly appreciated.

I have the idq10v3 dual 4ohm in my car and have been very happy with it. It sounds great with varying styles of music. It can be accurate with rock and get low with jazz or hip hop. Me saying I am happy with a single 10" says volumes, coming from my last install with a pair of eclipse aluminum 12's and 1100 watts.

Are you planning on a single sub or a pair? If single, you would wire it parallel for a 2ohm load. If dual subs, no way to get 2ohms at the amp from a pair of dvc 4ohm subs
