Default C6- Center speaker question.

2006 Bose system.
I removed my center dash speaker in order to mount the NAV and XM antennas. I had the XM antennae on top of the vent with the NAV antennae, but the reception sucked.
I think that the chime for the memory set function on the seat was coming from the center speaker?
Anyway, now I need to hook this speaker back up in order to have that chime.
Anybody mounted this little speaker elsewhere?
I guess one option is to mount it under the mounting plate I made for the antennas and cut holes in the plate so I can hear it.
The warning chimes work, they come from the door speaker.

Any info appreciated.

When I first installed my D3 I had a Scosche interface adapter. With that adapter the seat memory and door lock beeps were just not there. Once the Scosche died and I switched to a GMCO the beeps were back. They're probably not there due to the adapter you used.

No matter which adapter you have, the beeps and warning chimes should all come out of the interface box itself. Removing the center speaker shouldn't have any affect on the sounds you hear.

Odd. My door open chime is coming from the door. I used the GMOS-04 and wired in the required relay for chime function.

its not possiable for that chime to have only came from the center speaker and not the door speaker. its the gmos04 not supporting that specific chime that you want

Sorry to sound like such a noob, but is that a GM adapter say versus the GMOS?

I think that depends on how you wire it. I kept my center speaker using a GMOS01 and put the door chime thru that. I do not have the other seat beeps for memory, etc. Odd.

Penta, can you recommend an adapter that does support all these chimes? I have had this one replaced already 3x,

for starters gmos04 is the biggest pile of crap period, im not suprised u have replaced a number of times

the peipheral pieces use the same chipset as the gm radio, a delphi chipset. a ghamh24b and gmahcm would be the periheral pieces but i cant tell u if u will get ur beeps back for seat memory etc. someone will have to post up and say if they still have them since i have never actually thought to check. but i WILL NOT install with a gmos04 period, i have sent people back home that wanted to use it

The GMOS-04 came with the system when I bought it. What is the best adapter for NON OnStar, NON navigation system WITH Bose?

The GMCO is what I'm currently using. It has all of the original chimes, and they all come out of the GMCO itself. AFAIK, the GMCO is identical to the GMAHCM functionally.

If you have OnStar you need the GMAH24(B) and the GMAHCM, without OnStar the GMCO does it all

Hmm, I very much appreciate your knowledge on this. Went with the GMOS01 in this iteration. Overall satisfied except for the seat-memory-thing but I can live without that. My installer went with the GMOS01 after we decided to put in new door speakers (JL C6's 650"s with tweets) and the JL HD 900/5 amp. the GMOS04 was not recommended.

IYHO what would you recommend as the best adapter? BTW, thank you for being a thought leader on this forum.

No OnStar: GMCO

With OnStar: GMAHCM + GMAH24/24B
