Question about GM PAL install

I'm almost finished with the GM install and I'm stuck at trying to get the connector on the left side apart in order to remove the K pin.
Has anyone been able to take the connector apart, or just cut the wire and leave the connector in the plug?

While you do need to tap into that wire, it doesn't have to be under the dash. Check out the large paragraph in THIS old post of mine.
