I'm a C6 coupe owner and also a gadget guy of sorts. I'm really looking hard into replacing my Bose (non-Nav) system but am very hesitant. I've read SOOO much about different head units that I'm Dizzy! I am wondering if a purchase of a new HU is worth the time and hassle. I also have a Droid and to be quite honest, the NAV has been 100% accurate so far. So NAV isn't huge for me or weighing in the decision. I would like a different look in the car, an option to use my droid as a music library, and possibly an ipod in the future.
Now, If I could get my droid/ipod going for pretty cheap and easy that might be the direction I would go.... But what else would I be missing? Blue Tooth... I've thought about it, but not really sure how good that stuff really is especially with my exhaust. Would the sound of my exhaust be too much to talk over?
Should I just save the cash and put it into headers?
HELP!!!!
Also, I've been looking at Eclipse stuff, and it's getting some stellar reviews by CNET and Crutchfield. Anyone got any intel on Eclipse?
If it's other features you're looking to swap out the HU for and not the Nav, consider a unit that's a year or so old. The prices drop significantly if you don't need the latest and greatest Nav system, but the other add-on gadgets rarely change.
I was not interested in NAV, Bluetooth, XM, DigitalFM, etc. this $200 unit from BOSS does not look stock. I have loud exhaust too
it uses USB, SDHC cards, IPhone input for movies or plays DVDs.
an alternative for you to consider. I will upgrade to components in the doors soon. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...t-install.html
