Default 2005 OnStar Help.

Hi all,

I'm wondering if someone can help me. I'm trying to find out how the OnStar microphone is oriented in the 'A' pillar trim of any 2005 or similar model year vehicle. If there's a pic out there somewhere I'd really appreciate someone posting. All I'm really looking for is a photo of the 'A' pillar trim, mounted in the car showing the mic. I don't need to see anything taken apart.

Thanks!

It is 1/3 down the pillar and mostly oriented towards where the stick shift is - if that is what you want to know (not quite sure).

I do not recall OnStar as an option on the 2005.

It's not quite what I'm looking for but I certainly appreciate you taking the time to respond. I purchased a mic and bezel from a wrecker that specializes in Corvette's. It was (reportedly) from a 2005 but I can't be absolultely certain. It does mount roughly where you have described. I've seen some photos showing the mic on eBay listings but none were close-up enough to provide the detail I need.

I'm transplanting a mic for OnStar to the 'A' pillar location as part of a custom project and as such, need to drill a hole in the trim. The mic bezel is keyed so that it can only be installed in the 'A' pillar trim in one position. This also ensures the mic will snap into place with the slots pointing in the right direction for best audio pick-up. Any photo where I can make out the direction of these slots (in relation to the 'A' pillar trim) will help me to know how to create the hole for proper mounting.

Thanks!

I'd imagine that the OnStar mic hasn't changed over the C6 evolution, so a pic from any year C6 should be all you need. Unfortunately I don't have one, but if you asked for a pic of the mic in C6 Gen I bet you'd get one posted in a few hours at most.
