just got my radio back for my '91 for being repaired. Well, it's no better than when I mailed it off. I saw a referral for this outfit here in the forum from another member and it doesn't seem they touched it. Same problems: CD's won't track well, just like when I mailed it off. And when it comes back the front/rear fade doesn't work the way it did before I sent it off. On this Bose unit the fade switch has an **** with a pointer on it and an outside ring. On the treble/bass switch, which is the same design, the **** contols one and the outside ring the other. But on the fade there is only 1 function, so I'm pretty sure the **** controlled the fade and the ring did nothing. Now the ring controls the fade and the **** does nothing! This isn't right is it?
And I'm so frustrated that now I think I going nuts. Every time I take this out and put it back in some plastic piece seems to break and this pisses me off! :mad After I break off another part that holds the stuff all around the radio, I unplug and remove the unit AND THE THING IS STILL PLAYING THROUGH THE SPEAKERS! Am I going crazy? I'm holding this unit in my hand with the 2 plugs undone, no power going to it, and the radio is still playing through the speakers. How is this possible? And has anyone had less than satifactory experiences with the folks who supposedly fix your Bose?
Bill, if you want it repaired right the first time, send it to United Radio in New York. If you want their number and address, call me at work (770)925-7003. I work in Norcross
