head unit won't turn off
ran into a problem today while installing a head unit. I just e-mailed Metra to see what they suggest, but here's the e-mail i sent:
Any suggestion guys? I tried searching but couldn't find the exact issue with this adapter. Also, is the 4 pin plug for the cd changer? I noticed the adapter didn't have any plug in for this, so I assumed that's what it was.
I just installed a Pioneer in-dash cd player in my wife’s 2001 Corvette. I had to use the XSVI-2004 adapter from Crutchfield’s recommendation. After the install, the head unit constantly stays on. It’s supposed to play when the ignition is turned off, then shut off when the door is open. It is getting constant power whether the key is on/off, or if the door is open/closed. I also noticed that the power light on the XSVI does not come on. Is this a problem with the adapter? I doubled checked the wiring and it’s fine. I soldered all connections and heat shrinked them.
