Sub Enclosure

Is there somebody that sells these already made or do i have to get a custom box? My local installer said he would charge $350 for a fiberglass box. Thanks.

I got quoted $425 to have one built for me. I am going to do it myself for about $75. Plus I get the satisfaction that I made it with love. :lol: :lol: :lol:

That is not a bad price, I found that making Sub box is not hard but a lot more time consuming than you might think.

i was thinking about the top end Phoenix Gold.....The installer said i have more than enough Cubic space for that sub which i was suprised to here.

Depending on how much cubic space you need for the sub you may be able to buy a pre-fabbed box. Check out Circuit City.

In my case I redid just the cover and placed 1 12" sub in there. The new board material is Laun wood so the bass is much tighter now.

I picked up a pre-fab box...Qlogic is decent quality for cheap price.
I actually picked up a floor model that was missing a 'plastic grille face'
I removed the plastic face on the boxes and threw them out with the other grille, these boxes have two layers of plywood on the face for their fancy Q looking image, with that removed the subs are recessed a little, allowing better protection and reducing need of plastic grills that vibrate , and sealed the enclosure better....using a divided box due to running the subs in stereo and not mono...mono you want an open pair box (no divider)...I now have a nice box that I got discounted very very cheap to under $100, its tight and can hold the power my eclipse subs produce.
