New 12" C5 sub setup [Pics]
I recently upgraded my subwoofer setup from a stealth box to a hangover-style box.
I went from a Subthump stealth box with a Kicker Solo Classic sub to a Subthump hangover box with an Elemental Designs e5.12 sub.
The old sub sounded great but I wanted a flush style box and I wanted to maximize my amp's capabilites.
Here's some pics; first of the old stealth setup with Kicker grill:
Some pics of the new setup. It's hard to tell, but the box does have the "Corvette" script embossed in the box:
As can be seen in the pics above, the old Kicker grill fit the new ED sub perfectly. I did, however, pick a new Soundstream grill that I really liked the looks of.
The grill is only available from the manufacturer in a chrome finish. I took it to a local powder coating shop who hooked me up with a great deal and powder coated it a semi-gloss black. The powder coating turned out very well.
And some final installed pics:
Love the new looks and the new sound of the setup.

Hangover box is a little higher than the stealth box, so that you cannot use the stock cubby cover over it to hide it like you can with the stealth box. The hangover box gives you a little more cubic feet of space so you have more speaker options.
