Many fun things here under testing for your audio system needs:)

Speakers, seven 6.5", four 5.25", one 6x9, several subs, EQ's amps, etc.....
I am putting up a big board full of speakers to test out which ones are the best fit for budget and overall performance so I can offer the best value for my fellow enthusiasts

I have two active Eq's to test as well, budget but very good, a bit more and superb, to fit your needs when using a stock HU or aftermarket without EQ. This is very important to get a very good sounding system. I will be offering complete packages, pretuned and well marked with the best settings so you can fiddle around then go back to a solid baseline if you get lost, confused, etc....you would be surprised at how a system can sound when done right and how bad when hacked up playing around

I also received a huge sheet of Alumalite to build speaker mounts and door filler plates, super low weight and none resonant, perfect for a true supercar like our sweet vettes
This material costs nearly 15 times more than MDF but my prices will be very reasonable considering the advantages involved and the extra cost to me, no Corvette Tax allowed here at RAAMaudio Inc
Amps, tiny to huge, very reasonable to very costly, to fit your needs.
I am not pursuing the super high end, if you are an "audiophile", car audio is super important to you no matter the cost, cool, I was once as well, not many have owned a set of $7k components nor $2.5k DAC, etc.....I have, been there, done that, I just want a very competent musical system that sounds very sweet cruising down the road and plenty good enough for any taste in quality recordings. The exponential cost of going all out is a never ending money pit, I would rather have more go fast bits and just a very good stereo that does not cost a fortune and want to help others here do the same

(No worries, my upper end kits will give you a huge margin of the super high end sound for far less money, especially once you start the engine

NOTE: This is not my primary business, it alone keeps me very busy, this is my hobby, passion, tax write off(I love being honest) and wanting to help you guys have great setups as few shops have a real clue about car audio, sad but true!

Acrylic is way to flexible thus resonate and it is far heavier, it would have to be matted and add more weight yet.
Once I cut some baffles and the filler plates I will weight them on my postal scale but I do not have any MDF to compare it to. I have some super dense 1/4" composite floor tiles but not big enough for the door access hole, they would be great but way to heavy!
I have not used MDF in the last 10 years or so, if I need wood I use Baltic Birch plywood, less than have the weight, far stronger, etc..... just one more thing I learned from working with Matt and Eric at ID

In the past I did some work with ABS and PVC sheets, not to bad but this Alumalite is just so much better I did not mind spending $235 on a 4x10 sheet so I can provide the best for you guys, really

I had to mount them kind of high to get over the top of the dash, a bit closer to me than I would prefer and so am going to test them aimed a bit forward and still up a bit on this set. I will do another set with them further forward ,thus even lower and try that as well. Once I settle on the placement someone may get a special deal if not quite perfect they will still be really really good, I promise
The goal here is to minimize the time and cost to do this, sound great, look great or as good as possible and not stand out much which helps keep your gear in your car and not in some thiefs car
I wish we had room under the pillars to nearly flush then cover them with cloth and look good, very very subtle that way but does not work in the C5 and C6 at least. I will also be testing the stock locations and the very adjustable ID crossovers soon, they were designed to optimize stock tweeter mounting and may be a viable alternative after all. I expect to do pretty well with them for those not wanting A pillars modified, which I fully understand. Hell, may get lucky and just need pillars(wishful thinking but there is always the chance

I bought a spare set of pillars to play with and hopefully make em work
(like designing roll cages and building them from scratch, tackling a roll bar design for the vert when none of the shops will build a true track worthy one to market, etc......

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Hopefully I will be able to lower it, not raise it, etc..if lowered I would give everyone that paid $99 a refund of the difference

I think I just may do a group buy on them, let me get the C5's done and new C6 ones and I will see what I think I can do

Thanks
Rick
