Re: door bose speakers on a 89 (vettlesstintguy)
any pointers? i removed the grill just to look amd it looked like a bear to get out.
I'm about to attempt the replacement of my door speakers this weekend. I talked to a guy with an 89 that had removed his door panels. His pointers were:
Remove all the screws
Remove the insert that contains the door handle, etc.
When you remove the panel place it on a stool or something so you don't break any of the wires.
The PITA on re-installation is replacing the part that manually locks the door.
I'm going to try to take pictures of my removal of the panels, bose speaker enclosures and installation of replacement speakers as I do it.

Re: door bose speakers on a 89 (Kale)
Kale - Any tips on getting the rods out?
Edit - Nevermind, got it done. The top one was easy, it pops out with pressure between the silver panel and the rod. The second one was easy once I worked the panel out from the top and bottom it kinda popped out. When replacing it was a little difficult, but it all snapped together.
That silver piece has to come out, only way to get the enclosure out. Thought about reusing the enclosure, but it won't work without modification so its off to the lumber yard.
OBTW - How many pads are supposed to be holding the window at the top?
