Default Installed the stereo today

Well I installed, the stereo in my 01 z06.

factory radio

Jl ZR 650's in doors

Jl C5-525x for rears

Jl HD600/4

Jl cleansweep

Now Im missing the Jl cleansweep calibration cd, but playing it with out the calabration cd it just sounds flat and bright. I ordered the calabration disc is this what it holding me back from having the stereo sound full and rich? Also any other tips would be great. Thanks!

the factory radio does not send a full range signal to the rear speakers. that's why they sound muddled when you fade to the rear. an aftermarket headunit will provide full range.

rip the cleansweep out and tap in behind the headunit to the low level outputs that are there already. tapping in at the speaker wires is ur problem. there is zero reason for a cleansweep in a c5

So basically its always going to sound like this? Unless 1 I get a new headunit, or 2 I just work with the factory headunit?

Is the MTX RE-Q5 the same kind of thing and will it make a factory HU sound any better with just new speakers?

you dont need any special BS no cleansweep, no req nothing. you just need to tap into the low level outputs at the headunit. if your shop cant figure this out they arent qualified

read c5 faq, have ur shop get a pac aoemvet1
