Default Installed Head Unit Today but got some problems...

Hey guys this is my first post just bought a '99 Coupe; but had a quick question about my head unit install

I installed a Kenwood head unit today and the head unit is sweet I have no issues with it, but for some reason the power is always on unless i manually turn the unit off. I am using the metra adapter and went through and made sure all the connections where correct but i know the metra is supposed to keep the accessory power and everything but like i said it actually never turns off the head unit when i turn the car off or open the door. I dont know if anyone has had this problem before but i do plan on going back into the dash today or tomorrow and trying to figure it out!

Thanks guys!

Matt

Not sure what harness you are using but when I had my C5 I had to run the accessory off the ignition harness.

The red, yellow, and black wires from the interface should be connected to the same color wires on the radio harness. If that's how you have it, the interface is most likely bad.

Yeah I checked and double checked it to make sure it was right. Thanks for the responses. Ill probably tie into the accessory wire and try that to see if i can get it to work right.
