I'm pulling out the bose radio and speakers and putting an aftermarket cd player.need to know what wire harness to use for the radio and connectors for the door speakers dont want to splice into the wires.
C5 has powered subs and 3.5" twiddlers in the doors. If you're completely replacing the door setup and installing a sub, just run new wires, it's MUCH easier. If you want to keep R.A.P. buy a GMRAP for about $40, if normal on/off with the ignition is OK use accessory pigtail wires in the passenger floor board.
If you want to keep the oem door subs functional you can still replace the twiddlers with Polk db351 or Boston Acoustic S35. The Metra XSVI-2004 is an all-in-one adapter that retains RAP and lets you use the stock wires to the door and rear speakers. The ROEM-Vet1 works fine, but it's been reported that it doesn't have the RAP feature.

I've been reading reports of people having problems with the Metra. If you're using the ROEM-VET1, you can pick up a Peripheral GMRAP for about thirty bucks on the auction site to get the retained accessory power back. I'm sort of having second thoughts on whether I really even need that, however.
