C4 headunit turns on then off?
hey everyone, first off, i have a 93 6 speed coupe, the CDM was in the cubby hole, i do not have a passenger airbag. I wired everything up today, correctly to the best of my knowledge. I wired my headunit from the orange yellow and black wires from the CDM. orange to yellow, yellow to red, etc. I dont, however have the antenna connected.
Heres my problem, when i turn the key the headunit does not come on. i can hit eject on the headunit and it gets power and ejects the cd then turns right back off. the power button does not work but if i hit display it turns on then off. This is an aftermarket cd player by the way, im not sure what product number, but it has a cd player/aux slot.
anyone know what the problem may be? im contemplating running the yellow wire to the fuse box

yeah its got constant 12 volts
5 bucks says even with the ignition turned off if you hit the eject button it woudl try and do the same thing
plaine and simple u need to get a meter and check for 12 volts on both constant and switched

found the problem - i had the accessory wire hooked up to the yellow wire of the CDM, i wired it to the constant 12v (which was actually putting out 12v constant) along with the wire that was supposed to be wired to the battery wire.
works like a charm now! just have to remember to cut the stereo off when i park. not sure why the ignition wire did not work correctly.
