Out with the Blose...
Gutted the Bose..New Audio System for the Z!!
I know many of you think the Bose system is just fine...I don't. So I just got the Z back from the install of my new system...WOW!
The system is as follows:
Alpine 7878 MP3/CD/CDR Player
Boston Pro 6.5 Component Speakers front Doors
Boston RX 57 Coax in Rear
2 Rockford Fosgate Amps
2 Alpine Type R 10 Inch Dual Voice Coil Subs
Stinger Capacitor
Custom box in back, using up the center and one side hole.
Dynamat throughout
Impressions:
The Dynamat makes a huge difference in the amount of noise, it's no Lexus, but alot less tire roar and tranny rattles...still lots of Ti noise though!
This system is exactly as I wanted it, nice clear sound, lots of definition, good solid bass (but not boomy). I love it!!
Any of you on the fence and wondering whether it is worth it??? Jump off and do it!!!

Nobody really thinks that it is fine ... its that they havent heard any better ... Great thing you did with the stereo... I am planning on doing mine in the beginning of April ...
One Question : Why did you use any rear speakers? From what I hear .. since the Vette is a 2 seater ... the rear speakers are useless ?

The speakers I put in the rear are really only for fill. The deck power was used to for them and the speakers only cost me $139 (Cdn). They just fill in the sound better...IMHO

Great system man!
I'm going to be doing my system soon. Did you do the entire interior in Dynamat (remove the seats, do the floor, etc)? How much did the Dynamat part of the install cost?
