Finally was able to troubleshoot my problem but dont know how to fix. I have a Kenwood 6960 HU. Problem was at low volume I can hear the turn signals and brake lights through the Focal component speakers (in doors). Here is what I know. I disconnected the set of RCA cables (subwoofer) from amp. I can listen to front speakers with no feedback. Hook them back up and feedback is there again. If I disconnect the RCAs (front speaker) I get no feedback. Problem is I need to have both sets of RCAs hooked up for a complete system. I have checked all the grounds and they are good. I have changed out RCA cables with the same results. One thing that puzzles me is my installer hooked up the small speaker wires (front and rear) from the headunit. Wondering if I should just cut them? I realize he did it to be able to run rears and the onstar. I have the bose amp fuse pulled now because the static was brutal as he continued to go through the bose amp. Somewhere in the system there is problems. Any suggestions. I dont really care about onstar as it isnt active anyway. Thanks in advance.
If you're not using those outputs then clipping them is a good idea, you're just introducing noise to the system. You're obviously picking up noise on the sub signal wire somewhere so first make sure its run is not adjacent to the power wire for the sub, but odds are putting a ground loop isolator in the signal path would eliminate the issue. It will likely also result in you having to bump the level of the sub up a few db's as isolators tend to bring the signal level down a bit so keep an ear out for that. Best installed at the head unit but can also be done at the amp, as a test if nothing else to see if it helps, as I know that is easier to get to.
Help! I just installed my 6960 last night and have slight speaker noise/feedback. I have the base stereo and no onstar. My feedback is on whether car is runnin or not but if i select source "standby" it goes away. Did not use isolaters or rca cables because i thought they werent beeded on 1sa stereo. Also i elec tape bundled all grnd power amp and speaker wires together to tidy up could that be the problem?

it would help if we knew what harness you used, i assume GMCO? Also you would be better off making your own thread. Ill put money on its a C6 you used the gmco and cut the rca plugs off. You need rca plugs and ground loop isolators
