Just added a 4 channel amp new door speakers and a 8inch sub. Cant seem to get rid of the whinning when i have all 4 channels connected. Plus I tried to use the ground block above the seat belt tensioner insted of the bolt on the seat rail. That made the whinning much worse. Also noticed i get some sparks when I removed the bolt form the grounding block.
Any thoughts????
ohh did not use a LOC tapped the RCA's right into wires going to the Bose conditioner. Sparks occured when the engine was off key out.
Make sure your ground is on metal and not paint. I used the screw on the B-Pillar which I suspect is the same one you used and had to sand some paint away before I could get rid of the whine.
ok so i did the BIG 3 and grounded the amp to the ground point on the B piler. Im still getting a whining noise. Im thinking at this point the alternator is bad. Will it help if I make a new ground point for the radio harness grounds?
Also i know it was stupid that i said its sparking when i remove the ground i had the door open so the trunk light was on.
I have looked into that. People have had good results, but also hurt the amp. Could it just be the amp is bad. It only does it when I have the secound set of rcas plugged in. Either set makes it happin not bad rcas. Could just be the ground in the amp is bad.
amp rockford fosgate p4004
stock headunit.
Is it normal to hear the same type of whining sound under the hood. I work at a dealer with about 6 other c5's they all make that sound under the hood.

Reason: wanted to ad some more thoughts
IMO you still have a grounding issue with your rcas or your amp is screwed up royally. I have done aftermarket amp in more c5s then I care to count (with stock and non stock radios). With a stock radio I have NEVER gotten alternator whine even with a cheap amp. I would venture to say its a bad splice job or wiring job or the amp could be screwed. Behind the headunit try moving the rca common to a ground screw on the radio
I tapped the ones you posted about. the larger of the 2 small plugs. used the light blue as the ground. It is possible the rca's i made are not perfect, all they had at radioshack was the soider type and not the crimp on ones. Im not the best at soildering. I did double check them like 4 times though. Another question would it have made the whining with the LOC's? I used the same amp didnt have the whining, but there was barely any audio when i had it hooked to the LOC. Now i have all the audio signal i need but it whines.
So I split the Eva commens into 2 obeyed of down to one. Still had some whinning. So then I tapped off my commens and ground ti the radio screw. Now no whinning, I have the comment going to the radio coomen ground and to the center back plate screw on the radio. I can use all 4 channels with no noise other then music. Thank you everyone for your help.
