Sound wise, it does have a little (OK, a lot) more thump to it compared to the sealed box. Now that there is a partition, I can actually hear the full range of the speakers cruising down a concrete highway with about 60% of the road noise gone. Just a guesstamate, didn't pull the db meter out.
Before you knew there was a sub back there pushing out the bass. Thump, thump, thump oh there is a bass guitar note. Now with the compartment being smaller or due to the box, I can actually hear the full range of bass being produced.
Noted problems. My car is very well sound proofed/sealed. With the partition/box installed, I have to use a little more oomph to close the trunk and doors, there is to much inside pressure. With the windows up, its basically a vented box within sealed box. You can notice this at higher volumes when pushing the bass. As soon as the windows are cracked about an inch, you can definitely notice a volume gain inside the car.
The 2 Infinity amps look almost the same except for the end caps and I imagine the internals also. I ASSUMED the power block would be the same also (they looked the same) so I hooked up one amp and looked at 12v/power on/GND and hooked it up. I did the exact same thing to the other amp, blew the amp fuses and the amp. Infinity swapped the power/GND around. First time in around 30 years I've blown an amp. Glad I had the Eclipse amp sitting around.
As my brother put it. A $200 amp to protect a 50 cent fuse.

I didnt do mine as wide as yours. What kind of Cubic ft did you get out of it? I might have to change my design to get some room in my trunk.
All I can say is WOW, that came out beautiful.
I love the Kappa Perfect series. You don't have to throw a ton of power at them, as they have a very high efficiency rating, and they are truly a SQ sub. Hard to find a better sub for the dollar.
I may have missed this, but what was the displaced volume, looks like a little more than 2.0?
Two thumbs up on a great build, and a wise choice in woofers, that thing must sing!
Oh, question... You said that you can hear more of the range of the woofer than just "thump", were you using a different woofer prior, or is it just the larger ported box that made the difference?
Golf clubs? I pass a lot of golf courses while I'm driving the Corvette instead of golf *****.
I would have to look at a C6 vert with thoughts of installing a sub box.
